Course Content
Devices and machines at molecular level. Miniaturization of devices and machines: top-down and “bottom-up” approaches. Devices for processing of electron-and energy-transfer. Swiching electron-and energy-transfer processes. Logic gates (YES, NOT, OR, XOR). Molecular scale machines: natural and artificial machines. Dendrimers in cancer treatment and diagnosis. Self-assembling processes for the synthesis of polyfunctional materials. Self- assembled nanoreactors. Self –replicating systems.

Learning Objectives
The student will acquire the necessary knowledge for the interpretation of molecular motions at molecular and macromolecular level and for design and synthesis of molecular machines. The student will acquire the necessary competence for the development of new machines operating at molecular and/or macromolecular level. The student will acquire the necessary knowledge of techniques for the study of motions at molecular and macromolecular level and for the synthesis of molecular/macromolecular devices.
