Physical principles and methods of Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) techniques for the study of composition and structure of materials: PIXE - Particle Induced X-ray Emission, PIGE - Particle Induced Gamma-ray Emission, EBS - Elastic Backscattering Spectroscopy, ERDA - Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis, NRA - Nuclear Reaction Analysis. Application of IBA techniques to material science, cultural heritage, environment and geology.

- Ion beams generation: electrostatic accelerators and ion sources; transport and diagnostics of accelerated ion beams. Extraction of an ion beam in atmosphere: methods for measuring the intensity of an extracted ion beam.
