The course consists of a first part which explains the nature of elementary particles and their interactions, and short notes are given on the detection techniques. In the next part of the course different applications of elementary particles in various fields are illustrated, including geology, archeology, medicine, industrial activities (Container inspections) and exploration of the cosmos.
The purpose of the course is therefore to illustrate with a very practical approach the various fields of application of the elementary particles. All the arguments and theoretical parts are treated in such a way that the course can be approached in the third year of the three-year degree.
